How It All Began
Thrive Through Play started from my living room floor — surrounded by toys, toddler tears, and the weight of trying to parent differently than I was parented.
As a pediatric OT and a mom of 17 years, I knew all the “right” strategies. I had the degrees, the training, the clinical tools. But real life? That was messier. It was filled with sensory meltdowns in the grocery store, bedtime battles that left me questioning myself, and the deep desire to break generational patterns without always knowing how.
I began weaving together everything I knew — trauma-informed care, emotional regulation, child development, and play-based therapy — and applying it to my own parenting. And I saw real change. Not overnight, but in steady, meaningful shifts. More connection. Less chaos. More confidence in how I showed up for my kids.
And I knew I wasn’t the only one craving this.
So I built Thrive Through Play for you — the mama who’s doing her best but still feels like she’s missing a piece. The one who wants more than just behavior charts and quick fixes. The one who’s ready to raise emotionally intelligent kids with tools that actually work in real life.
This is where it all comes together: your child’s needs, your needs, and the support you deserve.
Our Values
Connection Over Perfection
We believe that deep, healing parent-child connection matters more than getting it “right.” It’s not about perfect parenting — it’s about being present, responsive, and real.
Regulation is the Foundation
Self-regulation and co-regulation are at the heart of growth, learning, and emotional development. We focus on nervous system support — for both parent and child — as the first step to lasting change.
Play is Powerful
Play isn’t just fun — it’s how children explore, process, and build emotional intelligence. We use play-based, sensory-aware strategies that feel natural and effective.
Gentle Generational Healing
We support cycle-breaking parents doing the hard work of choosing connection over control. Our work honors your story while helping you create a more regulated, resilient future for your child.

FOUNDER
I’m Kate — a pediatric occupational therapist and mom of 17 years. I started my journey with a bachelor’s degree in developmental psychology, then went on to earn my master’s in occupational therapy. With that background, I’ve always been passionate about supporting the whole person — understanding the layers beneath behavior, and helping families find calm, connection, and clarity in the midst of chaos.
I created Thrive Through Play because I’ve lived the chaos, the meltdowns, the sensory overload, and the weight of trying to hold it all together when it feels like everything is falling apart. As a mom and pediatric OT, I saw a gap — a place where parents were left overwhelmed, unsure, and unsupported in the moments that mattered most.
I work with parents like you: loving, committed, cycle-breaking caregivers who are trying so hard to raise emotionally healthy kids in a world that pushes perfection and performance. You might feel exhausted by daily power struggles, heartbroken by your child’s big emotions, or stuck not knowing what’s sensory, what’s behavioral, or what to do next.
Thrive Through Play exists to change that.
I created this space — and every course, tool, and support I offer — to make regulation and connection feel doable. To give you evidence-based strategies in mama-friendly language. To help you understand your child through a sensory and nervous system lens. And most of all? To remind you that you’re not alone.
This is a place where play is powerful, healing is possible, and small, supported shifts create lifelong change. You don't need to be perfect — you just need support that sees you, honors your story, and walks with you.
We're in this together.
